Both the men's and women's contingents from Nagaland are set to represent the state at the upcoming 36th Senior National Sepaktakraw Championship, scheduled to take place in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, from October 30 to November 3, 2026.
Demonstrating exceptional prowess in regional qualifiers, both squads successfully secured berths across all three primary competitive disciplines: the quad event, the team event, and the regu event. This broad qualification underscores the growing competitive depth of the sport within the northeastern state.
According to reports by the Nagaland Post, the athletes have intensified their training routines to meet the rigorous physical and tactical demands of the upcoming national showdown. Sports administrators have expressed optimism regarding the squads' readiness to face formidable contenders from across the country.
As the tournament kickoff approaches in late October, the teams will focus on fine-tuning their coordination and strategic gameplay. A strong performance in Gwalior could significantly elevate Nagaland's standing in the national sepaktakraw circuit and inspire a new wave of athletes in the region.
