Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio Deploys Advanced Medical Fleet to Boost Mokokchung Healthcare

MOKOKCHUNG — In a significant boost to regional emergency medical infrastructure, Nagaland Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio on Friday officially deployed a newly acquired Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance alongside a specialized hearse van for the Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) located in Mokokchung.
This crucial infrastructure enhancement arrives as part of an ongoing collaborative effort to bridge critical healthcare delivery gaps in remote districts. Historically, hilly terrain and limited access to high-acuity transport vehicles have posed severe challenges for local medical personnel attempting to transfer critical patients or manage dignified final rites during health crises.
According to reports detailed by the Nagaland Post, the acquisition of these vehicles was made possible through the corporate social responsibility funding of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). Local health administrators have expressed profound appreciation for the corporate intervention, noting that the addition of an ALS-equipped ambulance drastically improves the facility's emergency response readiness.
Moving forward, state health officials plan to monitor the operational efficiency of the newly integrated fleet to determine if similar public-private partnership models can be replicated across other underserved districts in Northeast India. The broader implementation of such targeted medical logistics is expected to significantly reduce transit-related mortality rates throughout the region.
