NEET-PG 2026: Candidates Face Online Joining Hurdles as Colleges Stay Unreachable

The much-anticipated NEET-PG 2026 counselling process has hit a critical snag as newly allotted candidates grapple with an inaccessible online joining portal. Despite securing postgraduate medical seats through the rigorous selection procedure, aspirants report that the digital admission gateway either fails to load or rejects login credentials without clear recourse. The abrupt technical failure has transformed what should be a seamless transition from selection into a frustrating impasse for thousands of medical graduates across India.
Compounding the technical woes are reports of dysfunctional communication channels. Candidates allege that nodal officer contact details listed in counselling directives are either outdated, incorrect, or entirely non-responsive, leaving grievances unaddressed. Institutions such as Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and the University College of Medical Sciences have become focal points of discontent, with admissions offices inundated by distress calls and emails from students unable to verify their allotment or complete the required joining formalities within the stipulated deadline.
The communication breakdown lays bare deeper systemic vulnerabilities in the National Board of Examinations' counselling framework. While the online mode was intended to streamline and accelerate seat allocation, the absence of a robust grievance-redressal mechanism and verified support staff has instead amplified uncertainty. Education analysts warn that if the issue persists, it could not only defer the academic calendar for incoming PG students but also erode public trust in the merit-based selection process that NEET-PG ostensibly upholds.
In response, the Directorate General of Health Services has been urged to activate an emergency helpdesk, validate all nodal contact points, and extend the online joining window to accommodate affected candidates. Meanwhile, affected students are advised to document all failed attempts and escalate grievances through the official PMSSS portal. The situation underscores the imperative for real-time technical monitoring and human oversight in high-stakes academic admissions, ensuring that procedural efficiency does not come at the cost of student access.
