BRS Fires Back at Telangana Government Over Energy and Irrigation Claims

Senior leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) launched a vigorous defense on Monday against the ruling administration's recent White Paper, dismissing official assertions regarding historical energy consumption and irrigation water availability as misleading fabrications.
The political showdown centers on infrastructural milestones achieved during the previous legislative term, particularly concerning agricultural support systems and grid stability. The current administration had previously pointed to alleged discrepancies in sector management to criticize past policy execution.
According to reports by The Hindu, former energy minister Jagadish Reddy forcefully rejected the administration's arguments—specifically targeting claims related to the strategic placement and operational readiness of the Yadadri Thermal Power Station (YTPS). Reddy asserted that the opposition's narrative ignores ground realities and undermines the extensive progress made to secure power and irrigation for local farmers.
As political friction intensifies across the state, this war of words is expected to dominate legislative debates and public discourse leading up to upcoming administrative sessions, further polarizing the debate over Telangana's long-term energy security.
