NEW DELHI — The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has officially rolled out a dedicated digital platform named Anubhav, designed to allow mobile and broadband subscribers across the nation to independently test, verify, and compare internet speeds delivered by various service providers in real time.
This nationwide rollout arrives at a time when digital connectivity forms the backbone of India's rapidly expanding digital economy. Historically, subscribers have voiced persistent frustrations over widening gaps between promised data speeds and the actual browsing performance experienced on the ground, making a centralized, objective metric system vital for consumer protection.
According to reports by the Times of India, the regulatory body structured this initiative to leverage crowdsourced data points, ensuring that performance analytics remain decentralized, accurate, and completely transparent across different geographic regions and carriers.
