Ben Wheatley Steps In to Direct Blumhouse Horror 'Molepeople' Following Creative Shake-Up

Filmmaker Ben Wheatley, known for his work on "Normal," has officially stepped in to helm the upcoming horror feature "Molepeople," taking over directorial responsibilities from Rob Savage on behalf of Paramount Primal and Blumhouse’s Atomic Monster.
The production has faced a series of significant creative adjustments as it prepares to head before the cameras. Initial director Rob Savage, who previously directed "The Boogeyman" and "Other Mommy," was forced to step away from the venture due to overlapping calendar commitments, prompting the studio to swiftly pivot to Wheatley.
According to reports published by Variety, the leadership transition at the helm coincides with the departure of leading man LaKeith Stanfield, signaling a broader casting and crew realignment for the dark genre piece.
Production timelines and updated casting announcements are expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks as Wheatley puts his personal stamp on the feature, continuing a busy slate for the prominent horror production banners.
